About IC-MED Journal
Medical Sciences and Image Processing has a significant relation for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Especially, medical system has evolved at an explosive rate in the past few years.
High-resolution, three-dimensional anatomical information can now be
obtained in a routine manner with magnetic resonance imaging and X-ray
computer-aided tomography scanners (X-ray CT, MDCT). Three-dimensional
functional imaging of blood flow and metabolic information can be obtained
from positron emission tomography (PET) images, and functional
four-dimensional electrophysiology (EEG) and evoked potential information
can be obtained using high-speed computers. In addition, ultrasonography
system could provide 3D real-time images of organs or blood flow
information. Ultrasonic imaging can efficiently provide the dynamics of
tissues with the low cost devices. In these, new techniques such as image
scanning, display, sensors, actuators and devices lead to improve the
potential of the medical imaging systems.
Especially, a mixture of medical sciences and image processing techniques
would lead to successful tasks to various medical system developments. This
explosion of new techniques also emphasizes the need to integrate and focus
the efforts of computer engineering/scientists and clinicians to facilitate
communication, establish standards, and develop training programs.
While, in clinical practice, data mining in huge clinical data and clinical
decision making based on the mining results play a primary role for clinical
treatment.
International Journal of Intelligent Computing in Medical Sciences and Image
Processing (IC-MED) focuses the new techniques arising form the fusion of
medical sciences and image processing. This fusion would lead to enhance not
only medical quality but also image processing techniques.
International Journal of Intelligent Computing in Medical Sciences and Image
Processing is published by TSI Press, the publisher of the AutoSoft Journal,
beginning 2007.
